Entre el 3 y 7 de octubre, en Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, se llevó a cabo la Segunda Edicion de este festival que proyecta cortometrajes en sus diferentes categorías, como animación, documental, experimental y ficción, en su selección oficial , en la que participaron alrededor de 200 cortos, quedando 40 de ellos como finalistas, mismos que se proyectaron durante estos días.
Between October 3 and 7, in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, it took time of the Second Edition of this festival, that projects short films in different categories, as animation, documentary, experimentally and fiction, as the official selection, in which about 200 short films participated, remaining 40 of them as finalists, same that were projected during these days.
En la parte de conferecias, tuvieron una destacada participación, el Dir. Armando Casas y Olallo Rubio. El primero por su parte impartió la conferencia " El oficio del director de cine en México" , quien ejemplificó su charla con el corto "Para vestir Santos", dentro de los temas que abordó fue el cómo desarrollar un guión, así como los conocimientos amplios que debe de tener un director en áreas como música, danza, material fílmico, equipo de cinematografía, maquillaje, trato con los actores, cultura artística, edición, luz y sonido, entre otras. Así como los diferentes caminos que pueden tomarse para dedicarse al cine, donde mencionó 3 de ellos: la escuela (camino más corto), hacer cortometrajes o, el último de ellos, acercarse a hacer cine.
Por su parte, Olallo Rubio presentó su largometraje "Y tú... ¿Cuánto cuestas?", mismo que ha causado opiniones encontradas, no obstante este film muestra una realidad palpable de la sociedad actual, su pensamiento y su cambio de cultura, junto con la pérdida de identidad y educación en un país como México.
Olallo platicó que este largometraje en su inicio no lo habían proyectado para llegar tan lejos, pero conforme se fue proyectando se incrementó su controversia abriéndoles camino a una publicidad no esperada pero sí bien recibida.
En el marco de la inauguración tuvo participación el grupo musical de surf Sr. Bikini, quienes se mostraron involucrados en la difusión del cortometraje mexicano, al proyectar algunos videos de su autoría. In the inauguration the musical group of surf Sr. Bikini, made the paricipation , who proved to be involved in the diffusion of the Mexican short films. A lo largo de un año el staff se preparó para esta Edición del Festival. Throughout one year the staff was prepared for this Edition of the Festival.
Armando Casas and Olallo Rubio made a participation as conferencists. The first one gave the conference " The role of the director of cinema in Mexico ", he exemplified his chat with the short film " Para vestir santos ", inside the topics that he approached was how to develop a script, as well as the wide knowledge that the director must have in areas as music, dance, movie material, cinematography equipment, makeup, dealing with the actors, artistic culture, edition, light and sound, and others. As well as the different ways to make cinema, where he mentioned 3 of them: the school (more short way), to do shorts or, the last one of them, to approach to do cinema.
Olallo Rubio presented his film " Y tú...¿cuánto cuestas?", same that has caused opposing opinions, nevertheless this film shows a palpable reality of the current society, his thought and his change of culture, together with the loss of identity and education in a country as Mexico.
Olallo talked to the audience that this film in the beginning had not projected it to come so far away, but as it was projected, the controversy was increased opening a way to them for a not awaited advertising but received well as it.

Un Festival que en su Segunda Edición reafirma su nacimiento, siendo este uno de los pocos espacios existentes para la proyección de cortometrajes en sus diferentes categorías dentro de México, prometiendo que en sus próximas ediciones la participación se incrementará, lo que puede convertirlo e uno de los principales festivales de cortometraje en el plano internacional, ¡enhorabuena!
A Festival that in his Second Edition) reaffirms his birth, being this one of few existing spaces for the projection of shorts films in their different categories inside Mexico, promising that in the next editions the participation will increase, which can turn it in one of the principal festivals of short films in the international plane, congratulations!
